The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week awards for week ending October 8 and Rebels defenseman Diarmad DiMurro was named the East Division’s second star of the week while teammate Andrew Bellant was chosen as honorable mention.
This is the second straight week the Rebels rookie defenseman received league recognition. The Highland Mills, NY native had three points this past weekend (1 goal and 2 assists). His goal was the game winner in Friday’s 2 – 1 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. DiMurro is the team leader in points with seven (2 goals and 5 assists).
Bellant had two points on the weekend (both assists) against the Knights. The Linden, MI native has the second most points on the team so far with six (3 goals and 3 assists). Bellant is the franchise’s all-time point leader.
