Feb 18, 2016

The Aston Rebels, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce the signing of Elk River Elks forward Jensen Zerban to a NAHL Tender contract for the 2016-17 season.

Zerban, 17, has played 18 games this season for the Elks, who play in the Minnesota High School Hockey League. He has scored 17 goals and has 23 assists. He also has played for the Minnesota Blades who were invited to the October North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) Showcase. Zerban had seven points in five games for the Blades.

“I am honored to be offered this tender contract by the Rebels” said Zerban. “I enjoyed my brief stay with the Rebels earlier in the season, and I am looking forward to helping team full-time” concluded Zerban.

Zerban played for the Rebels back on November 7th against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. He had an assist and scored the game winning goal in a shootout.

“We are very pleased to have signed such a talented young player,” stated Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. “Jensen is a very intelligent player with the ability to share the puck with his teammates.  He should be an integral part of next year’s Rebels team. I look forward to working with him” concluded Coombs.

The 5’10” right-handed shot forward is from Elk River, MN.
