SEWELL, NJ- In the finale of a three-game series, the Philadelphia Rebels (7-15-0-1, 15 pts) fell to the Johnstown Tomahawks (10-10-3-0, 23 pts) 5-4 on Sunday afternoon.
Sunday’s finale started strong for the Rebels as Dominic Foglia scored an early goal to give the team a 1-0 advantage in the first. Max Marquette recorded an assist on the goal, giving him three points in the series.
In the second, Foglia would score his second of the game on the power play and his fourth in five games with the Rebels. His seventh of the season gave Philadelphia a 2-1 lead 1:11 into the second.
Johnstown answered late in the second with three unanswered tallies in a span of 3:57 to end the second period ahead 4-2.
Klaus Jogi ignited a third-period spark for Philadelphia, scoring his fifth goal of the season on the power play to cut the deficit to one with just under seven minutes to play.
In the final minute, with the Rebels’ net empty, Drake Albers slotted a puck into the empty cage to put Johnstown back up by two.
Philadelphia’s compete-level remained high as Josh Player scored his second of the weekend with 26 seconds left, but the Rebels couldn’t find the tying goal in the final seconds.
Philadelphia welcomes Danbury to Hollydell next weekend as they look to get back on track to start off the month of December.
