SEWELL, NJ – The Philadelphia Rebels (23-28-2-1, 49 pts) host the Johnstown Tomahawks (28-23-3-1, 60 pts) for their final three home games of the season this weekend at Hollydell Ice Arena.
Here are five things to know ahead of Thursday’s series opener:
1. Final Home Series
The Rebels final three-game series of the season is also their last home series of their Inaugural Season at Hollydell Ice Arena.
The Rebels began their East Division schedule at home on Sept. 23 against Maryland and their first season’s home schedule wraps up this Saturday, April 8.
2. Hammer Time
Forward Max Hamstad has points in four-straight games and eight points in his last eight contests.
Hamstad is third on the team with 36 points and enters the weekend with five points over his four-game point streak.
After scoring in four of five games, Hamstad has four assists in his last three games.
3. It’s Always Sonny in Philadelphia
Sonny DiNubile scored his second goal of the season last weekend against Maryland and also added an assist in the series.
DiNubile enters the weekend on a season-long three-game point streak. In total, DiNubile has two goals and 16 assists.
He trails only Luke deVries (26) in points among Rebels defenseman who have spent the whole season on the roster.
4. Last Time Out
The Rebels hosted the Maryland Black Bears last weekend and played tight games against the division leaders.
During the weekend, the Rebels continued to play well in the second period. Philadelphia outscored Maryland 4-1 in the second period during the series.
The Rebels now have a plus-eight goal differential in the second period this season.
5. Matchup
The Rebels have met the Tomahawks nine previous times this season, including a three-game series two weeks ago in Johnstown.
All three of those games ended with one-goal Johnstown victories. Entering the weekend, Johnstown is just five points out of a playoff spot.
Saturday will be Fan Appreciation Day at Hollydell Ice Arena. Fans will be able to get autographs and photos with players in a post-game skate with the team.
Thursday’s and Friday’s games will begin at 8 p.m. and Saturday’s puck-drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. Admission is FREE for all games and can be seen on HockeyTV.
