The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending January 7 and Rebels’ forward Charles Panchisin was named the East Division’s Star of the Week.
Panchisin had five total points (3 goals and 2 assists) during this past weekend’s road split with the Northeast Generals. He had a goal and two assists in Friday’s 6 – 4 win, and he had a pair of goals in Saturday’s contest. On the season, the Vernon Hills, IL native leads the team with 30 total points (11 goals and 19 assists), and he is tied for the most goals on the team (11).
This is the fifth time this season that Panchisin has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was named second star of the week for week ending November 19 and honorable mentioned November 26 and December 31 and honorable mention for forward of the month for December.
“We are excited for Charles. He’s steadily improving as the season progresses. Night in and night out, we know what we’re going to get. This is a well-deserved honor after a strong showing this past weekend,” said Rebels head coach Justin Hale.
