Titans Rally in Overtime to Defeat Rebels, 4–3

MIDDLETOWN, N.J. — The New Jersey Titans scored the game-winning goal in overtime to defeat the Philadelphia Rebels, 4–3, on Saturday night in the conclusion of a home-and-home series.

Philadelphia (8-11-1-3) struck first when Brayton Frick converted a power-play opportunity in the first period to take a 1–0 lead. The tally marked the third time this weekend Frick found the back of the net. The Titans answered in the second period with a goal from Jake Jarrell, but Alex Lunski quickly restored the Rebels’ advantage, making it 2–1.

The third period featured a tense back-and-forth. Tate Pecknold tied the game at 2–2 for New Jersey, and Ty Simonet gave Philadelphia a 3–2 lead with about four minutes remaining. Simonet’s goal marked his first career NAHL goal. Skogen Schrott then scored with 1:30 left to send the game into overtime. Ty Creech finished the comeback for the Titans with the decisive goal in extra time, giving New Jersey the 4–3 victory.

Goaltender Ben Varsa made 41 saves, keeping the Rebels competitive throughout the contest, while Tyler Rounds stopped 22 of 25 shots for New Jersey.

With the overtime loss, the Rebels split the home-and-home series, falling to 8-11-1-3, while New Jersey improved to 11-7-1-2.
