The Philadelphia Rebels return home this weekend for a two-game set against the Maine Nordiques, as the team looks to deliver a strong performance in front of its home crowd.
Philadelphia (19-27-8-6, 46 points) enters the weekend after being swept by the division-leading Maryland Black Bears, but showed great fight over the two-game set. This weekend marks the final two meetings of the year between the East Division foes, and it’s the first since Jan. 17.
Offensively, the Rebels continue to see contributions throughout the lineup. Jordan Brothers leads the team with 34 points and has been a consistent presence all season long. Abzal Alibek has added 29 points and remains a key playmaker, while Brayton Frick continues to produce in all situations and bring energy to the lineup. Joe Stauber has also provided a boost from the blue line, contributing offensively while maintaining a strong presence defensively.
Between the pipes, Ilja Nikitins has been a reliable backbone for the Rebels, posting a .916 save percentage while facing a high volume of shots. His poise and consistency have allowed Philadelphia to stay within striking distance in many contests.
Maine (30-21-4-2, 64 points) comes into the series sitting fourth in the division and firmly in the playoff race. The Nordiques will be motivated to pick up points as they look to solidify their postseason position.
A big reason for Maine’s success has been its offensive leaders. Austin Borggaard paces the Nordiques with 51 points and has been a consistent threat in all situations, while Damon Myers adds 35 points and brings a strong scoring touch. Jack Klevby (30 points) and Joe Gasperko (30 points) provide additional depth, making Maine a team that can generate offense from multiple lines.
Maine is expected to counter with Lukas Fursten in net, who has been equally impressive with a .923 save percentage, setting up a strong goaltending matchup.
Beyond the action on the ice, it’s a special weekend at the rink. Friday night’s game will serve as Billet and Family Night, recognizing the families who open their homes and support Rebels players throughout the season. Their role is vital to the organization, and the night will celebrate the strong bond between players and their billet families.
The weekend continues Saturday with Team Picture Night, giving fans a unique opportunity to take a team photo with the Rebels following the game. The event is free for all fans in attendance.
Puck drop for Friday is set for 7:30 p.m., and Saturday is slated for 6:30 p.m. Fans can catch all the action on NATV.
