The Aston Rebels are pleased to announce that defenseman Brennan Kapcheck has committed to play NCAA Division 1 Ice Hockey for the American International Yellow Jackets who represent American International College (AIC).  The Yellow Jackets play in the Atlantic Hockey Conference (AHC). His commitment begins in the fall of 2017.

Kapcheck, 20, leads all defensemen in the North American Hockey League in points (23) and goals (10). He is third on the Rebels in total points with 23. The 5’9”, 160 lb Chicago, IL native is tied for second on the team with three game winning goals. He also has a +20 +/- ratio.  The right-handed shot Kapcheck is an extremely gifted player who skates exceptionally well and passes adroitly. He can take a hit as well as give one, and he possesses great vision on the ice.

“AIC seemed to be the perfect fit for me” stated Kapcheck. “I loved everything about it. I am very excited to get back into school and start my college career off right at AIC. I would like to thank all my family, friends, teammates and coaches for their support along my journey thus far” concluded Kapcheck.

“Brennan Kapcheck is a great player” stated Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. “He also is a great teammate and a great person.  AIC really hit it out of the park with this one. He has been a standout player for us, and I am proud to have coached him as an Aston Rebel” concluded Coombs.

Kapcheck is the third Aston Rebel to make a Division 1 NCAA commitment this season.

American International College is located in Springfield, MA. The Yellow Jackets currently have an overall record of 2-5-7.
