Philadelphia Rebels head coach and general manager Justin Hale has announced today that Julian Biondo has joined his staff as an assistant coach.
Biondo has been coaching in the Oakland Jr Grizzlies organization for the last six years. Moreover, he has prior scouting background working for the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for three years, as well as the Rebels during the 2023-24 campaign.
“We are excited to welcome aboard Julian” stated Hale. “He’s someone I’ve been fortunate enough to coach in the past, and know the type of man and leader he is. I’ve continued watching his coaching journey from afar and have been impressed by all he’s accomplished and the experience he’s gained. He is extremely hard working and having played in the league is someone our players can learn from” concluded Hale.
“I look forward to joining the Rebels’ staff, making our players better, and coaching in a great organization” said Biondo. “I hope to use my past playing experience in this league and coaching experience to help build upon the great program already established by Justin and our ownership. I’m excited and eager for the start of training camp, and thank the Rebels’ ownership as well as Justin for the opportunity to join the hockey staff in Philadelphia” added Biondo.
