The Philadelphia Rebels are proud to announce that forward Ryan Bunting has committed to Utica University to continue his academic and hockey career.
A native of West Deptford, New Jersey, Bunting has been a mainstay in the Rebels’ lineup over the past three seasons, developing into one of the most impactful players in team history.
After making his debut in 2022-23, Bunting quickly became a key contributor. He recorded 24 points (8 goals, 16 assists) in 54 games during the 2023-24 season before breaking out in 2024-25 with 20 goals and 40 points in 59 games. This season, he added 19 points (10 goals, 9 assists) in 29 games, continuing his consistent production.
By the end of his Rebels career, Bunting ranked fifth all-time in games played (146), second in goals (38), fourth in assists (45), and fourth in total points (83), cementing his legacy as one of the most productive forwards in franchise history.
Serving as an assistant captain during the 2025-26 season, Bunting played a key leadership role both on and off the ice.
“Ryan has been a cornerstone of our program for the past three seasons,” Rebels head coach and general manager Justin Hale said. “His growth as a player and person has been awesome to watch. His work ethic, character, and commitment to our team make this college opportunity well deserved. We’re proud of him and excited to see what he accomplishes at the next level.”
Bunting’s ability to contribute in all situations made him one of the most trusted players in the lineup, while his consistency and leadership helped drive the team on and off the ice.
Bunting expressed gratitude for his experience with the Rebels.
“I’m beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to represent the Rebels and Hollydell for the past three years of my life,” Bunting said. “I have grown a lot both as a player and as a person, and I am very appreciative of everyone involved in the process. Super excited to spend my next four years as a Pioneer.”
Bunting becomes the latest Rebel to advance to the collegiate level, continuing the organization’s strong tradition of player advancement.
