It was another relaxing day here in Kenai. Our boys were back on the ice for a little skills session to start preparing for our games against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs this weekend. Morale was high coming off Saturday night’s win, and the boys were determined to start
the week off right.
Following practice, the Rebels created a makeshift workout room consisting of tires, sandbags, PVC pipes and cement buckets. We also did acceleration and deceleration drills. There is never a day off in the life of a Rebel. Shortly following our makeshift workout we had Jersey subs at the rink. We had a choice between ham, turkey or roast beef.
For a little team bonding, the Rebels went back to their roots and playeda little mini-hockey. Drew Blackmun was the absolute worst goalie this side of the equator. However, some Rebels such as Andrew Bellant and Ryan Patrick, made a name for themselves in the mini-hockey realm. Obviously, they had been practicing prior to this trip.
Winding down it was time for some dinner and relaxation. Sandwiches, chips and cookies were on the menu. Following dinner many of the boys came back to the hotel and threw on a movie to fall asleep. Overall it was a very relaxing day and, surprisingly, was not that cold.
