The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending April 8 and Rebels forward Noah Finstrom was named the East Division’s second star of the week while fellow forward Alex Frye was selected as honorable mention.
Finstrom had four points (1 goal and 3 assists) in three games this past week. The New Baltimore, MI native had three points (1 goal and 2 assists) in last Wednesday’s win against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights and he had an assist – along with Frye – on Ryan Patrick’s game winning goal at the buzzer in Friday night’s win against the Johnstown Tomahawks.
Despite being out most of the season to a freakish injury, Finstrom has played in fifteen games and has a total of five points (1 goal and 4 assists).
This is the first time Finstrom has received league honors during the season.
Frye had four points (2 goals and 2 assists) as well this past week. He had three points (2 goals and 1 assist) in the 7 – 1 win over the Knights and the assist on Patrick’s goal.
Frye is tied for sixth on the team in total points with thirty (11 goals and 19 assists. This is the third time this season the Clarkston, MI native has received league honors: December 3 – honorable mention, and January 14 – second star of the week.
