ATTLEBORO, MA – The Philadelphia Rebels (14-17-1-1, 30 pts) make their first trip of the season to Massachusetts for a series with the Northeast Generals (19-11-3-1, 42 pts) on Thursday and Friday.
Here are five things to know ahead of the series:
1. Road Warriors
Through 14 road games this season, the Rebels have won eight times, including a seven-game road point streak.
The Rebels are 6-0-1-0 in their last seven road contests. They have won three-straight games away from Hollydell Ice Arena heading into the weekend matchup.
One of their wins in this stretch came against East Division leading Maryland.
2. Jogi Bear
Forward Klaus Jogi has scored goals in two of his last three games and has five points in that stretch.
Jogi scored in consecutive games on Jan. 10 (at Danbury) and Jan. 13 (at New Jersey). Jogi had two points in each of those games as well.
3. Shot Stopper
In the weekend split against New Jersey, Jakub Krbecek stopped 82 of 87 shots he faced. In Friday’s win, Krbecek stopped 46 of 48 shots to hold on for the win.
Overall, Krbecek has lifted his save percentage up to .922 for the season. The Rebels netminder has recorded wins in eight of his last 11 appearances.
4. Last Time Out
Last Friday, the Rebels delivered the New Jersey Titans their first regulation loss since October. It came in a 3-2 Rebels win, featuring goals by Jogi, Connor Sedlak and Greg Spitznagel.
The Rebels penalty kill was crucial in the win, killing off a Titans 5-on-3 for a full minute in the first period.
On Saturday, the teams returned to Hollydell Ice Arena and New Jersey took the game 4-1.
5. General Knowledge
Northeast features a potent offense with some of the league’s highest point-producers. The league’s leader in points and assists, David Andreychuk, leads the way for the Generals with 47 points.
Andreychuk’s linemate Paul Minnehan is third in the league with 43 points and Jake LaRusso’s 21 goals are second in the NAHL.
In goal, Toby Hopp’s .931 save percentage is third in the league.
On Jan. 6 and Jan. 7, the Rebels and Generals split a series at Hollydell. This series marks the Rebels’ first trip to the New England Sports Village.
The games on Thursday and Friday both begin at 7 p.m. and can be seen on HockeyTV.
