SEWELL, NJ- The Philadelphia Rebels (4-8-0-1, 9 pts) host the Maine Nordiques (6-7-0-0, 12 pts) for a two-game set this weekend at Hollydell Ice Arena.
Here are five things to know:
1. Back after the Bye
The Rebels’ last game was played almost two weeks ago on October 22nd, a 5-2 win over New Jersey. The team had last weekend off and will now look to pick up where they left off. Maine played two games in Danbury last weekend, winning both contests.
2. Stay Hot Rook
Brock Jones has settled in nicely during his first year playing in the North American Hockey League. After six games without logging a point, Jones has etched his name on the scoresheet three times in his last three games.
After a point in Johnstown on Oct. 15, Jones recorded his first career multi-point game on Oct. 22 against New Jersey.
Jones had a goal and an assist in the win and recorded a plus-3 rating.
3. Offensive Options
Five Rebels are tied for the team lead in goals with three tallies.
Rookies David Deputy, Klaus Jogi and Kristians Samitis have three goals each so far in their rookie seasons. Captain Connor Sedlak and Max Hamstad have added three goals to the Rebels’ offense as well.
Deputy is also the Rebels leader in points with nine in 13 games. Hamstad and Greg Spitznagel trail him with seven points.
4. Between the Pipes
Jakub Krebeck will look to build off his strong performance in his last game when he stopped 41 of 43 shots he faced against the New Jersey Titans. Krebeck has a 2.63 goals against average, which ranks third among goalies in the Eastern Division.
Krbecek has recorded a strong .923 save percentage so far.
5. Taking a Look at Maine
Patrick Schmiedlin leads Maine in points with 13 and is averaging a point per game this season for the Nordiques.
Scoring-wise, Henrik Hallberg and Laurent Trepanier lead Maine in goals with six each. Kellen Murphy and Brendan Gibbons have also added four each to help Maine’s red-hot offense.
In their last three games, the Nordiques have put up five, four, and most recently, eight goals.
Kael Depape and Thomas Heaney are the options in the net for the Nordiques. Depape has a 2.70 goals against average with a .909 save percentage in six games. Heaney has a 3.23 goals-against average with a .903 save percentage in eight games.
After a 1-5 start, Maine now sits at 6-7 and is on a four-game winning streak coming into this Eastern Division series.
