The Rebels will take on the New Jersey Titans this evening at the Middletown Sports Complex with a puck drop scheduled for 7:30PM. It will be the last time this season that the teams meet.
This will be the “game in hand” for both teams. It will be their 55 contest of the season, bringing them inline with the rest of the division for games played. Each will have four games remaining in the season after this evening.
The Titans already have clinched a playoff berth. They are the only team in the East Division’s history to make the playoffs all ten years (minus the season that was cut short due to COVID – although they were in first place at the time). They are still in the hunt for the third seed with 64 points. However, their last four games have them on the road this weekend against the Maryland Black Bears and home next weekend against the first place Rochester Jr. Americans.
The Rebels are in the thick of the final playoff spot. They are currently four points behind the sixth seed New Hampshire Mountain Kings. Should the Rebels win tonight, they will be two points behind New Hampshire. After this evening, the Rebels will play consecutive home-and-home series against the Danbury Hat Tricks. This weekend the Mountain Kings will have a home-and-home series against the Northeast Generals and then conclude the season on the road against the Maine Nordiques.
