SEWELL, NJ – The Philadelphia Rebels have tendered forward, and Sewell native, Billy Sheridan for next season.
Sheridan is committed to play collegiately at the Division I level for Sacred Heart University.
“We are excited to have Billy join our group for next season,” said Head Coach Justin Hale. “He brings a great deal of skill and playmaking ability to the table.”
Sheridan currently plays for the New Jersey Rockets, but he is extremely familiar with the Rebels’ home rink.
Sheridan started playing hockey in Hollydell Ice Arena as a mite, suiting up for the Hollydell Hurricanes mite team. After that, Sheridan moved up to Tier 1 at Squirt Minor, playing for Hollydell’s Hockey Director, Tom Bunting for six seasons. In all six of those seasons, Sheridan’s teams were atop the rankings.
Before joining the Rockets, Sheridan played a season for the 16U AAA Philadelphia Hockey Club squad.
“It’s very cool to see someone who’s grown up playing his youth career at Hollydell get the chance to play junior hockey at home,” said Hale. “I think it’s great that he can show other players in our youth program there’s a path forward right here, and you don’t have to leave town to continue developing and playing a high level of hockey.”
Sheridan joins Ryan Vaites as Philadelphia Hockey Club players to tender with the Rebels.
