Keane and Maguyon selected to NAHL’s All-East Division Team

The North American Hockey League today announced its All-Division teams and honors for the 2017-18 season.  The divisional teams and honors represent the four divisions in the NAHL as voted upon and selected by the league’s 23 head coaches.  The awards are based on performance during the 2017-18 regular season. Rebels goaltender Ryan Keane and forward Aaron Maguyon were named to the NAHL’s All-East Division team while Keane also was named the division’s goaltender of the year.

Keane, the 5’9”, 160lb native of Coppell, TX, played in thirty-three regular season games and had a 24-7-2 record posting a 1.90 goals against average and .924 save percentage with three shutouts. Keane had the second-best goals against average and save percentage in team history.

Keane posted a 2.09 goals against average and .922 save percentage in the playoffs.

This is the eighth time Keane received league honors during the season. He was goalie of the month for October; honorable mention for goalie of the month for the months of November, December and January. He was the East Division’s Star of the Week for weeks ending December 17 and March 11. He was honorable mention for Star of the week for week ending October 15.

Keane is the third straight Rebels goaltender to be selected as the East Division’s goaltender of the year following Darion Hanson (2016) and Mareks Mitens (2017).

Maguyon, the Rebels 2017-18 Best Offensive Player, lead the team with fifty points (24 goals and 26 assists). He also led the team with 24 goals. He had four points (2 goals and 2 assists) in the playoffs.

Maguyon also was a participant in the NAHL’s 2018 Top Prospects Tournament back in February. He had two points (1 goal and 1 assist) in two games.

This is the ninth time the Egg Harbor Twp., NJ native received league honors during the season. He was named honorable mention for forward of the month for the months of November, December, February and March. He was selected second star of the week for week ending November 5, and he was honorable mention for weeks ending November 19, February 4 and 11.

Maguyon has the second most points in team history with 88 (36 goals and 52 assists). He is the fifth Rebel to record 50 points in one season.
