The North American Hockey League announced its monthly player awards for the month of October and Rebels goalie Ryan Keane was named Vaughan’s Goalie of the Month while forward Jensen Zerban and defenseman Diarmad DiMurro were named honorable mention for their respective position.

The 5’9”, 160lb native of Coppell, TX was 4 – 1 during the month with a 1.20 goals against average and a .950 save percentage with one shutout (4 – 0 win over Johnstown). Keane has the league leading 1.14 goals against average and .952 save percentage.

“Ryan has played fantastic since he walked through the door on September 1st” stated Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. “Quite frankly, he has been our most consistent player to date. Some NCAA Division I school is going to get a great college goaltender” concluded Coombs.

“I can play with a lot of confidence because of the great team I have in front of me here in Philadelphia” stated Keane. “We have a good and talented group of players and each is responsible at both ends of the ice, so is makes my job easier to stop the puck. We have been playing well since the start of the season and have good chemistry in the locker room, so we are looking to continue that consistency the entire season. I think our goal right now is to keep improving and win the East. I know everyone here is hungry to get back to the Robertson Cup and win it, so that is something we keep focusing on. Personally, I just want to keep improving and ultimately get an NCAA Division I opportunity” added Keane.

This is the second straight month that Zerban and DiMurro were named honorable mention for their position. Zerban had four points (1 goal and 3 assists) during October. The Air Force Academy commit is fourth on the team in points with nine (4 goals and 5 assists). He is tied for second on the team with a +7 +/1 ratio.

DiMurro had eight points (3 goals and 5 assists) during October. The Dartmouth University commit is tied for first on the team with eleven points (3 goals and 8 assists). He also has the best +/- ratio on the team with a +9.
