SEWELL, NJ – On Saturday night, the Philadelphia Rebels (7-14-0-1, 15 pts) saw their winning streak come to an end 3-1 at the hands of the Johnstown Tomahawks (9-10-3-0, 21 pts). The teams will play again on Sunday at Hollydell Ice Arena where the Rebels will go for the series win.

The physical element of the game was present early with Tyler Stern dropping the gloves with Ryan Panico at 3:27 of the first. In total, 38 of the 42 penalty minutes in the game were dished out during the first period.

Dominic Foglia got the Rebels on the board early in the second, going end to end while the teams played four-on-four and sniping a wrister above the glove of Alec Rajalin-Scharp. The game was tied shortly after.

Foglia gives the Rebels the lead with his 5th of the Season

Johnstown got another with 18 seconds remaining in the second period to take a 2-1 lead into the second intermission.

A quiet third period spelled the end of the night for Philadelphia. A 26-save effort from Jakub Krbecek was not enough to come away with a win. Johnstown added an empty-net goal to seal the 3-1 win.

Philadelphia tested Rajalin-Scharp 28 times and the Johnstown goaltender was able to stop 27 of them.

Philadelphia looks to win the three-game series with Johnstown tomorrow at Hollydell Ice Arena. Puck drop is at 2:30 p.m. for the Sunday matineé.
