Leavy named to NAHL’s East Division All Rookie Team

The North American Hockey League announced today its All-Rookie Teams for the 2016-17 season, as voted upon and selected by the league’s 24 head coaches. The NAHL has also named All-Rookie Teams in each of the four divisions. Rebels goaltender Jacky Leavy was named as the goalie for the East Division’s all-rookie team.

The 6’5”, 205 lb. netminder played in twenty games during the regular season posting a 13-1-2-1 record. He had a 1.82 goals against average and a .929 save percentage. He also had six shutouts, which were the second most in the league.

The Birmingham, MI native also played in the NAHL’s Top Prospects Tournament back in February. He played in two games (58 minutes in total) and had a 1 – 0 record. He had a 2.07 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.

This is the fourth time this season Leavy has received league recognition. He was named the East Division’s second star of the week for week ending December 18; he was the East Division’s player of the week for week ending January 8 and he was named honorable mention for goalie of the month honors for February.
