Mountain Kings Rally to Defeat Rebels 4–3 in Overtime

Thomas Malawski scored the overtime winner and Ronnie Hill recorded two goals as the New Hampshire Mountain Kings rallied to defeat the Philadelphia Rebels 4–3 in overtime Friday night in East Division action.

Philadelphia took a 1–0 lead after the first period when Jordan Brothers scored on the power play. New Hampshire answered early in the second as Ronnie Hill evened the score at 1–1, but the Rebels responded with another power-play goal from Joe Stauber to regain the lead.

Hill struck again later in the second period to tie the game at 2–2, sending the teams into the third period even. The Rebels briefly pulled ahead in the third when Dylan Moran scored to make it 3–2, but Alex Gelhar answered for the Mountain Kings to force overtime.

In the extra session, Thomas Malawski ended it with his overtime goal, completing the comeback and lifting New Hampshire to the win.

Philadelphia goaltender Ben Varsa finished with 33 saves on 37 shots, while Nolan Francis made 18 saves on 21 shots for New Hampshire. The Mountain Kings held a 37–21 advantage in shots, including a 16–3 edge in the second period.

The Rebels went 2-for-2 on the power play, while New Hampshire was held scoreless on two man-advantage opportunities.

With the loss, Philadelphia fell to 12-15-2-5, while New Hampshire improved to 9-18-2-2.
