SEWELL, NJ – The North American Hockey League has announced the schedule for the 2022-23 NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN from Wednesday, Sept. 14 to Saturday, Sept. 17. The Philadelphia Rebels will kick off their inaugural season during this four-day showcase with four games against non-divisional opponents.
All four games will be played in Blaine, MN with the league assigning which team is denoted as home and away for each contest. The Rebels’ season kicks off on Sept. 14 at 8:30 p.m.* against the Corpus Christi Ice Rays.
This will be the first chance to see the Rebels and Head Coach Justin Hale in action for a regular-season game.
The showcase continues on Thursday, Sept. 15 when the Rebels take on the Wisconsin Windigo at 3:30 p.m.* Similar to Philadelphia, Wisconsin is another team that is under new ownership in a new location this season, replacing the Minnesota Magicians and moving to Wisconsin.
For the first two games of the showcase, the Rebels will be the assigned visiting team.
The following two games in Minnesota will be denoted as home games for the Rebels.
In its third game of the showcase, Philadelphia will face-off against the Kenai River Brown Bears on Friday, Sept. 16 at 12:30 p.m*. Kenai River is one of three Alaskan-based teams in the North American Hockey League.
The showcase wraps up on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.* when the Rebels take on the Shreveport Mudbugs in their fourth game in as many days to begin the season.
In their four games, the Rebels play against two teams from the South Division (Corpus Christi and Shreveport) and two teams from the Midwest Division (Kenai River and Wisconsin).
With Thursday’s announcement, the Philadelphia Rebels 60-game schedule is completed. The final 56 games will be played strictly against East Division opponents with 28 at home inside Hollydell Ice Arena and 28 on the road. The schedule for the remaining 56 games can be found by clicking HERE.
