NAHL releases 2018 Blaine showcase schedule as Rebels open up against Chippewa Steel

Jul 25, 2018

The North American Hockey League announced its game schedule for the league’s 16th annual Showcase, which will be held from September 19-22, 2018, at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. The three-time defending regular season East Division Champions open up against the Chippewa Steel (formerly the Coulee Region Chill).  It also will be the Rebels first regular season game of the year. Jamestown, like all 24 NAHL teams, will play four regular-season games at the Showcase.

The following is the Rebels schedule (all times listed are Eastern Time)

Day                 Date               Time               Away                        Home
Wednesday   Sep. 9             6:00pm           Chippewa Steel       Rebels
Thursday       Sep. 20          2:00pm           Minot Minotauros   Rebels
Friday             Sep.21           11:00am         Rebels                       Amarillo Bulls
Saturday        Sep. 22          10:30am         Rebels                       Shreveport Mudbugs

Last year the Rebels went 4 – 0 in the Showcase which propelled them to an 11 – 0 record to start the season. The Rebels have an 8 – 4 record during the past three Showcases.

This will be the first time ever that the Rebels will faceoff against the Steel and defending NAHL Champion Mudbugs. The Rebels played Minot (3 – 2 loss) and Amarillo (3 – 2 OT win) during the 2015-16 Showcase.

All games will be televised through HockeyTV.

The NAHL Showcase attracts over 9,000 people in overall attendance, including more than 330 professional, college and junior scouts.  For scouting purposes, the NAHL Showcase is the premier event of its kind and is a yearly gathering for every NCAA program and NHL team as they get their first look at some of the best and brightest hockey talent North America has to offer.
