The Philadelphia Rebels, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defenseman Bryant Gunn has committed to play NCAA Division III Ice Hockey for the Amherst College Mammoths, who play in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). His commitment begins in the fall of September 2018.
Gunn, 19, has six points (1 goal and 5 assists) in thirty-four games this season. The Carmel, IN native a +4 plus/minus ratio. He is a graduate of independent AAA hockey powerhouse Culver Military Academy.
“I’m very honored and excited to announce that I’ll be attending Amherst College next fall for hockey” stated Gunn. “I would like to thank my family, teammates, coaches and everyone else who has helped me along this journey” concluded Gunn.
“I am glad for Gunner” said Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. “He is an integral component of our blueline, I know he will do well at Amherst” stated Coombs.
Located in Amherst, Massachusetts, the Mammoths are coached by Jack Arena. This season the team had an 11-9-5 record. Amherst College has appeared in four NCAA Championships and have won three NESCAC titles.
