SEWELL, N.J. — The Philadelphia Rebels were shut out by the Northeast Generals, 4-0, Friday night at Hollydell Ice Arena in the opening game of a two-game weekend series.

Northeast scored once in each of the first two periods before adding two goals in the final 2:15 of regulation to secure the victory. The loss dropped Philadelphia to 5-5-0-0 on the season, while Northeast improved to 7-1-0-1.

Camden Tabb opened the scoring just 3:02 into the contest, giving the Generals an early 1-0 advantage. Northeast maintained its lead throughout the opening period, outshooting Philadelphia 11-7.

The Rebels struggled to generate offensive opportunities in the second period, recording just four shots on goal. Logan Poulin doubled the Generals’ advantage late in the middle frame, scoring his third goal in two games against Philadelphia to make it 2-0 entering the second intermission.

Philadelphia continued searching for an offensive breakthrough in the third period, but Northeast goaltender Keagin Wilson turned aside all seven shots he faced in the final 20 minutes.

With the Rebels still trailing by two late in regulation, Nate Porter and Wyatt Ezman each found the back of the net in the final 2:15 to extend Northeast’s lead to 4-0 and put the game out of reach.

The Generals finished with a 28-18 advantage in shots on goal, including a 9-4 edge in the second period.

Rebels goaltender Jeremy Lowe made 24 saves on 28 shots in the loss, while Wilson stopped all 18 Philadelphia attempts to earn the shutout.

Special teams were another challenge for the Rebels, who finished 0-for-6 on the power play. Philadelphia’s penalty kill held Northeast scoreless on all three of its opportunities with the man advantage.
