Mar 26, 2023

JOHNSTOWN, PA – The Philadelphia Rebels (23-26-2-1, 49 pts) wrap up a three-game weekend on the road against the Johnstown Tomahawks (25-23-3-1, 54 pts) on Sunday at 3 p.m.

In Saturday’s contest, the Rebels fell in a back-and-forth affair 6-5 in overtime. The Rebels, however, did get their offense going in Saturday’s game, scoring three-plus goals for the first time since March 7 at New Jersey.

The Rebels’ power play was a key factor in scoring the five goals, with two coming on the man-advantage in the third period. The pair of power-play tallies ended an 0-15 stretch on the power play for the Rebels.

Kris Samitis continued a strong weekend on Saturday, scoring his seventh of the season. He has two points in the series, ending a scoring drought for the Latvian forward.

Philadelphia’s forecheck caused issues for Johnstown on Saturday, but a couple untimely turnovers for the Rebels cost Philadelphia in the game.

With key points on the line in Sunday’s series finale, the Rebels will look to continue to pepper the Johnstown net.

Sunday’s game can be seen live on HockeyTV.
