The Jamestown Rebels, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Peter Zhong has committed to play NCAA Division I Ice Hockey for the Arizona State University Sun Devils, who are an independent team. His commitment begins in the fall of 2018.

Zhong, 20, played two seasons for the Rebels. The Westmont, IL native had a total of six points (4 goals and 2 assists) in 64 games during his career. He was key member in the locker room and was an active participant in community events.

“I would like to thank my family for all they have done for me” stated Zhong. “I also would like to thank all of my teammates and coaches, particularly head coach Joe Coombs and the entire Rebels organization for all of their support these past two years” concluded Zhong.

“I am very happy for Peter” said Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. “He has been a solid part of our organization for two years. ASU is getting a quality person and player” stated Coombs.

Arizona State University is located in Tempe, AZ. The Sun Devils are one of only two NCAA Division I ice hockey programs that are located in the southern part of the United States. The Sun Devils had an 8-21-5 record this past season.
