ODENTON, MD – The Philadelphia Rebels (10-15-0-1, 21 pts) wrap up a weekend-series against the Maryland Black Bears (20-7-2-0, 42 pts) on Saturday night in Maryland.
The Rebels scored first and never surrendered the lead in Friday night’s game. It was the 10th time the Rebels have scored the first goal in a game this season and the sixth time that has led to a victory.
Carter Casper added to the Rebels lead in the second period with his second goal in three games this season and Philadelphia took a 2-0 lead into the third.
Jakub Krbecek locked down the game with 19 third-period saves and helped the Rebels improve to 8-1-0-0 when leading after two periods this season.
Friday night’s win was the Rebels’ first on the road against Maryland this season.
