SEWELL, NJ – The Philadelphia Rebels (3-5-0-0, 6 pts) look to rebound on Saturday night and split the weekend series with the Northeast Generals (7-5-0-0, 14 pts).
In the first game of the series on Friday night, Northeast scored early goals in the first and third periods and three goals in the third to win 4-2.
In the series opener, the Rebels had their most active game in the offensive zone since East Division play started. They fired 32 shots on goal, but were unable to convert in the third period to take control of the game.
On Friday, Tyler Stern scored his first of the season on a power-play deflection. David Deputy added to the offensive outburst in the second period with his second goal of the season.
Saturday’s game will be a chance for Philadelphia to log its first home win of the season at Hollydell Ice Arena before hitting the road again next weekend.
