Rebels Late Push Falls Short in 2–1 Loss to Northeast

Dec 7, 2025

A late push wasn’t enough for the Philadelphia Rebels, who fell 2–1 to the Northeast Generals on Saturday night at Hollydell Ice Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Generals broke through in the second with goals from Braydon Hudtloff and Kyle Murray, capitalizing on extended zone time and a series of Philadelphia penalties that tilted the frame in their favor.

The Rebels clawed back in the third and finally converted when defenseman Joe Stauber ripped home a shot with six minutes remaining, cutting the deficit to one. Philadelphia generated strong chances down the stretch but couldn’t find the tying goal.

Goaltender Ilja Nikitins kept the Rebels in striking distance all night, stopping 30 of 32 shots. Northeast’s Keagin Wilson had 23 saves.

Philadelphia (11-14-1-4) was hampered by 24 penalty minutes and a 0-for-2 showing on the power play, while Northeast (15-10-2-1) outshot the Rebels 34–24.

The Rebels return to the road Tuesday, traveling to face the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks.
