The Philadelphia Rebels hit the road this weekend for their final series of the 2025-26 regular season, taking on the Johnstown Tomahawks with just two games remaining on the schedule.
Philadelphia (19-29-3-6) enters the weekend looking to regroup following a 6-1 loss to the Elmira Aviators on Tuesday in its home finale at Hollydell Ice Arena. The defeat extended the Rebels’ losing streak to six games.
Johntsown (24-24-5-4) sits just two points behind Danbury for the final playoff spot in the East Division with the regular season ending this weekend. The Hat Tricks, who currently hold that spot, face division-leading Maryland, leaving the door wide open for movement in the standings.
Philadelphia will look to play spoiler while continuing to get contributions throughout the lineup. Jordan Brothers leads the team with 36 points, while Abzal Alibek (30 points) and Billy Sheridan (28 points) have provided steady offense. Captain Joe Stauber has added 26 points from the blue line.
The Rebels have also shown life on the power play in March, going 11-for-24 in the month and scoring a man-advantage goal in each of the last three games. That momentum could be key against a Johnstown penalty kill that sits at 80.9 percent. The Tomahawks’ power play, meanwhile, operates at 22.7 percent and has the firepower to challenge Philadelphia’s defensive unit.
Johnstown’s offense is powered by one of the league’s top scorers in Nick Jarmain (62 points), along with Emerson Marshall (57 points) and Charlie Zetterkvist (43 points). Their ability to create offense throughout the lineup will present a challenge for a Rebels team looking to tighten up defensively.
In goal, Ilja Nikitins is expected to lead the way for Philadelphia, carrying a .910 save percentage through 39 appearances this season. Johnstown could turn to Nikita Oleksiienko or Zack Ferris between the pipes.
With just two games left and the regular season ending this weekend, the Rebels will look to close things out with a strong effort while potentially playing a deciding role in Johnstown’s playoff push. Friday’s contest is set for 7:30 p.m., and Saturday’s tilt is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Fans can catch all the action on the road.
