Rebels Return Home for Series Against Northeast

SEWELL, N.J. — The Philadelphia Rebels return to Hollydell Ice Arena this weekend for a two-game series against the Northeast Generals on Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10. Both contests are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The matchup marks the second consecutive weekend the division foes will meet after splitting a pair of games in Canton, Massachusetts, last weekend.

Philadelphia enters the series with a 5-4-0-0 record, looking to build on Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Northeast. Defenseman Mikey Conlon recorded three primary assists in the win, earning East Division Second Star of the Week honors. The performance also came during a milestone weekend for Conlon, who appeared in his 100th career NAHL game Friday, with all 100 coming in a Rebels sweater.

The Rebels have received balanced offensive contributions through their first nine games. Forwards Paxton Couture and Timmy Donohue share the team lead with six points apiece, each recording two goals and four assists. Conlon, Jake Schultz and Marshall Swanson follow with five points each.

Dylan Moran leads Philadelphia with three goals, while Couture, Donohue, Broxton Ingle, Oscar Djurberg and Emmet McClaine have each scored twice.

Northeast enters the weekend with four players ranked among the NAHL’s top 20 scorers, led by Logan Poulin, who has recorded eight goals and six assists for 14 points in eight games. Poulin is tied for the league lead in goals and ranks tied for second with three game-winning goals. The reigning NAHL rookie of the year scored twice in last Saturday’s contest. 

Kody Moyer and defenseman Dominic Pajkic follow with 13 points apiece, ranking ninth and 10th, respectively, in league scoring. Pajkic leads all players with 13 assists and tops the league’s defensemen in scoring.

Braydon Hudtloff rounds out Northeast’s four representatives among the league’s top 20 scorers, ranking 14th with five goals and seven assists for 12 points.

The Generals have also received offensive production from their blue line beyond Pajkic. Defenseman Jack Montaldo has recorded one goal and six assists for seven points, tying him for 12th among NAHL defensemen.

Special teams could play a significant role in the weekend series, with both teams entering Friday’s contest sporting identical 83.8% penalty-kill rates. Northeast ranks 16th in the NAHL, while Philadelphia sits 17th.

The Generals hold the advantage on the power play, converting five of their 27 opportunities (18.5%) to rank 15th in the league. The Rebels have scored three power-play goals on 32 opportunities (9.4%), ranking 32nd.

Philadelphia has received strong goaltending through its first nine games, with Ben Varsa and Mathieu Raymond both ranking among the NAHL’s top 20 in goals-against average.

Varsa ranks 16th in the league with a 1.99 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage across four appearances. The Rebels netminder has posted a 2-1-0 record and recorded his first career NAHL shutout with a 39-save performance against the Ogden Mustangs on Sept. 23.

Raymond sits 20th in the league with a 2.03 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage in four appearances. He has posted a 2-2-0 record and leads Philadelphia’s goaltenders in save percentage.

For Northeast, Keagin Wilson has posted a 4-0-0 record with a 2.16 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage across five appearances. Gavin Weeks has earned two victories in three appearances, recording a 2.36 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage.

Saturday’s contest will feature Youth Hockey Night and Autograph Night at Hollydell Ice Arena. Youth hockey players wearing their youth hockey jerseys will receive free admission, and fans will have an opportunity to meet Rebels players for autographs following the game.

Both games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on NAHLTV.
