SEWELL, N.J. — The Philadelphia Rebels (6-11-0-2) return home to Hollydell Ice Arena this week to host the Johnstown Tomahawks (8-6-3-0) in a pivotal two-game series Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams. The Rebels come off a three-game road trip in which they went 1-1-1, including a 4-3 shootout loss to the Rochester Jr. Americans on Nov. 1, while Johnstown is coming off a 1-0 shootout win over the Maine Nordiques.
Johnny Conlin (7 goals, 8 assists) and Charlie Spencer (4 goals, 11 assists) are tied for the team lead with 15 points. Abzal Alibek (4-8-12) and Alex Lunski (4-7-11) provide additional scoring depth as the Rebels continue to play without Ryan Bunting, who has missed the last seven games.
Philadelphia will rely on disciplined play to match Johnstown’s balanced attack. The Rebels have shown flashes of effectiveness on special teams and will look to continue improving on the power play and penalty kill. The Rebels have scored power play goals in two of their last three contests.
Johnstown brings a strong lineup led by Nick Jarmain (14-10-24) and Emerson Marshall (11-10-21). Charlie Zetterkvist (9-4-13) and Kalib Capecci (3-9-12) provide secondary scoring, and the Tomahawks’ penalty kill is a league-leading 92.6%.
In addition, the Rebels will kick off their annual Ellie Koerner Leukemia Foundation Toy Drive during Friday’s game. Fans are encouraged to bring a toy to help make the holiday season brighter for families in need.
Returning to Hollydell Ice Arena, Philadelphia will look to use home ice to its advantage and create momentum in the first meeting of the season. Game 1 is Friday at 7:30 p.m., with Game 2 Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Fans can catch all the action live on NATV.
