The Aston Rebels are a Tier II Junior ice hockey team playing in the East Division of the North American Hockey League. The team plays its home games at the IceWorks Skating Complex in Aston, Pennsylvania.
Internship Objective
To receive hands-on experience within a sports organization, Interns will have the chance to help behind the scenes and learn what it takes to run a successful sports organization. Internships are ideal for students who have interest in the sports industry
- Internships will be offered for the duration of the 2015-2016 Hockey Season
- No prior experience is required; however customer service or sales experience is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, excellent written and oral skills
- Internship Program is un-paid; however game day operations are compensated and commission based sales opportunities will be available for those interested
Other Job Requirements
Flex schedule to accommodate game day operations. Responsibilities include but are not exclusive to the following:
Game Day Operations
- Preparing on-ice ceremonies and intermission activities in period promotions and game day giveaways
- Contestant signup and registration
- Guest Service Facilitation
Business Operations
- Assist the team with business operations and sales facilitation
- Assist the Rebels Director of Marketing with database management and Power Point Presentations
Ticketing and Merchandising
- Assist the team with the day to day ticketing and merchandising operations
- Will work at the Rebels Home Games at the booth and/or merchandise booth
- Will also be asked to complete office hours assisting the team with the day to day group sale operations of the team
Public Relations and Marketing
- Work under the guidance of the Director of Marketing to create an incredible Rebels fan experience
- Assist the staff in facilitation of team’s marketing and promotional operations
- On game days will assist to coordinate the contest sign ups, fan relations and promote various ticket packages and upcoming promotions to the fans
- Assist with player/mascot appearances
- Assist with booking and coordinating possible performers
- Assist with the production of media guides and game notes
- Assist with press releases and other media edits
