The Aston Rebels are pleased to announce the signing of Madison Capitals 18U forward Trey LaBarge to a NAHL tender contract for the 2017-18 season.
LaBarge, 17, currently has twelve points (8 goals and 4 assists) in 18 games played so far in the North American Prospect Hockey League (NAPHL). LaBarge, a 6’1”, 193 lb native of Middleton, WI, is a left-handed shot.
“I’m very excited for this tender with the Aston Rebels!” stated LaBarge. “After speaking with Coach Coombs and Coach Peruzzi, I feel this will be a great fit for my style of play and for my development. I believe that I will compliment the Aston Rebels with the type of play that I can bring to the game. Additionally, after talking with the coaches, it is inspiring to see their commitment and confidence in me as a player, especially coming off ACL reconstruction surgery just over six months ago. I look forward to playing with the Aston Rebels, especially in the east coast arena where I can not only add to the team’s continual excellence and success under Coach Coombs, but to gain the exposure the program offers” conclude LaBarge.
“Trey is a big, strong forward” said Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. “We feel his style of play fits our mode. He is very talented and I am looking forward to working with him to help him mature as a person and hockey player. I know that colleges will be interested in him” concluded Coombs.
