Jared Coccimiglio, Brayton Frick, Josh Galizia and Luke Janviriya scored and Jakub Krbecek stopped 31 shots to lead the Rebels to a 4 – 1 win over the visiting New Hampshire Mountain Kings to complete the weekend sweep between the teams. The win also evened the season series between the teams.
With the win and Northeast being idle, the Rebels have now moved into a tie with the Generals for the sixth and final playoff spot with a game in hand.
Coccimiglio opened the scoring with 9:45 remaining in the first period. Julian Brown picked up the loose puck behind his own net and made an outlet pass to Klaus Jogi at center ice. As Jogi gained the line along the near side boards, he went behind the Mountain Kings net. As he started to exit his circle, Jogi passed the puck to Coccimiglio at the faceoff circle and Coccimiglio took a one-timer that beat New Hampshire netminder Stefan Curray high, glove side for Coccimiglio’s 21st goal of the year which ties him for the most goals on the team with Charles Panchisin.
Just thirty-three seconds later, New Hampshire’s Sean Bradley evened the score. The Mountain Kings’ Joseph Arnold picked up the loose puck at the top of his own near side faceoff circle and chipped it into the offensive zone where it was picked up by Damon Bossie. As Bossie charged towards the net, he made a backhanded centering pass out front to Bradley who took a wrist shot that beat Krbecek for Bradley’s tenth goal of the season.
Frik scored just 1:44 into the middle stanza to regain the Rebels lead. Sonny DiNubile picked up the loose puck just outside his own near side faceoff circle and chipped it into the air and it bounced into the New Hampshire zone. As Brock Jones tried to retrieve the puck in the offensive zone, it was picked up by New Hampshire’s Nick Reif. Reif was stripped off the puck be Frick, who walked in all along on Carney, and Frick took a backhanded shot that beat Carney, high blocker side to make it a 2 – 1 game.
Galizia made it 3 – 1 at 6:13 into the second period. As the Mountain Kings tried to break out of their own zone, the puck was intercepted by Thomas Neu at the top of the point. As Neu skated towards the far side faceoff circle, he passed the biscuit back to Ryan Vaites who immediately passed the puck towards Charlie Spencer in the slot. Spencer passed it to Galizia on his right, and Galzia took a wrist shot the beat Carney short side for Galizia’s fifth goal of the season. It was Spencer’s first point as a junior player.
Janviriya scored his first junior career goal on the powerplay with 6:36 remaining in the second to make it a 4 – 1 game and close out the scoring.

The Rebels now enter the last week of the regular season with four games remaining: Tuesday against New Jersey in Middletown and then the last three games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are home against Danbury and Maine.
