The North American Hockey League today has released its schedule for the League’s 21st annual Showcase to be played September 25 through September 28 at the National Sports Center Super Rink in Blaine, MN. The Rebels will be facing the Wisconsin Windigo, Bismark Bobcats and New Mexico Ice Wolves.
All three of the Rebels opponents in this year’s Showcase made the playoffs last season.
The Rebels will open up at “home” against the Wisconsin Windigo on Wednesday, September 25 at 5:30PM ET on rink 4. This will be the second time in the past three seasons that the teams will face each other. The first time they met was back on September 15, 2022 with Windigo winning 5 – 1. Windigo finished in second place last year in the Midwest Division with a 39-15-3-3 record for 84 points.
Philadelphia then will be the “away” team when they face the Bismark Bobcats on Thursday, September 26 at 5:30PM ET on rink 4. Last year Bismark finished in second place in the Central Division with a 40-16-1-3 record for 84 points.
The Rebels then will finish up their three-game Showcase on the “road” against the New Mexico Ice Wolves on Friday, September 27 at 12:45PM ET on rink 4 as well. Last season the Ice Wolves finished fourth in the South Division with a 32-19-6-3 record with 73 points.
The Rebels have an overall record of 4 – 4 in two previous Showcases, although they have outscored their opponents by a combined score of 22 – 20. Last year the Rebels went 2 – 2 and outscored their foes 11 – 8. They have one shutout in eight games when they defeated the North Iowa Bulls 5 – 0 last year.
The Rebels very first franchise game was played on September 14, 2022 at the League Showcase when they defeated the Corpus Christi Ice Rays 5 – 2.
All NAHL teams will play three regular-season games at the Showcase, which is one of hockey’s most prominent and popular events of the entire season and has become the ‘Greatest Show on Ice.’ All games will be streamed live through NAHLtv.com.
