Rebels travel to WBS today to play Knights in matinee

On one of the busiest travel days in the year, the Rebels will make the trek up the Northeast Extension to play the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights in a matinee game that starts at 2:30pm at the Revolution Ice Centre. It will be the first of three straight games between these teams. It will be the Rebels third of eight straight road games.

Rebels vs. Knights Overview
This will be the fourth of twelve games between the Rebels and Knights. The Rebels have won two of the three but each team has scored eight goals. The last time these two met was on Wednesday, October 25 (playing in another afternoon game) when the Knights defeated the Rebels 3 – 1. Each team has won their respective home games.

The Knights’ Matt Kidney has four points (all assists) against the Rebels so far. Mike Gelatt and Reed Robinson each have two goals. The Knights are 2 for 12 on the powerplay (17%). Knights netminder David Tomeo has played in two of the games posting a 3.00 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.

Rebels’ defenseman Diarmad DiMurro has four points (all assists) against the Knights. Auggie Moore and Ryan Patrick each have scored two goals.  The Rebels are 2 for 11 (18%) on the powerplay. Ryan Keane has played in two games against WBS. He has a 2.00 goals against average and a .931 save percentage.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights Overview
The Knights currently sit atop the East Division with a 14-5-3 record for 31 points. The Knights have won three of their last five games, and they are coming off of a 4 – 1 home loss to the Johnstown Tomahawks. Forward Jack Olmstead leads the team in points with 23 (11 goals and 12 assists), goals (11), game winning goals (three) and best +/- with +12. Robinson has 22 points (10 goals and 12 assists) and Kidney has 21 points (9 goals and 12 assists).  Kiryll Ulanov has the most penalty minutes on the team 35.

The Knights have scored 75 goals in 22 games so far (second best in the league) and they have allowed 66 (15th most). The Knights are fourteenth in the league on the powerplay (19.2%) while they are fifth in the league on the penalty kill with a 85.4%.

Netminders Christian Stoever and Tomeo have a combined 2.78 goals against average and a .910 save percentage with no shutouts.

Rebels Overview
The Rebels have a 15 – 4 record for 30 points coming into today’s game which ties them for second with the Generals, although they have six games in hand on them and three games on hand against the Knights. The Rebels are 3 – 2 during their past five games, and they are coming off of a 5 – 2 road win against the Generals.

Aaron Maguyon leads the team with 14 points (7 goals and 7 assists) and goals (7). Andrew Bellant has thirteen points (6 goals and 7 assists) and Jensen Zerban and DiMurro each have eleven points. Zerban also has three game winning goals. Bellant also has the most penalty minutes on the team with 50 while DiMurro has the best +/- with a +8.

The Rebels have scored 61 goals in nineteen games (eighth best in the league) while they have allowed only 37 (least amount in the league). The Rebels are fourth in the league on the power play and have converted on 28.6% of the chances with the extra attacker while they are ranked sixth in the league on the penalty kill having prevented the opposition from scoring 85.2 of the time.
