The Rebels won the final game of the NAHL Showcase this morning by beating the Amarillo Bulls 3-2 in Overtime. Tobias Kircher scored the game winner with one minute left in the extra period.
After a scoreless first period, Guy Roby scored his second goal of the showcase at the 13:32 of the second period with assists from Drew Blackmun and Gvido Janson. A minute into the third period, Frank Spellman beat Bulls goalie Anton Martinsson short side from a nice feed from Janson.
With time winding down in the third, the Bulls Michael Forman picked up his own rebound off of Rebels goalie Trevor Micucci and wrapped it around into an empty net. Thirty seconds later Johan Lundgren beat Micucci with a blazing shot that beat the goalie long side to send the game into overtime.
The Rebels has many chances in the extra period but then with one minute remaining, Tobias Kircher took a blast that hit the post and went into the net giving the Rebels two points.
The Rebels next game with be their home opener on Friday, October 2 against the Johnstown Tomahawks at the IceWorks Skating Complext.
