The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced today the rosters for its Top Prospects Tournament which will be held February 27 – 28 at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, MI. Six Philadelphia Rebels have been selected to play in this tournament: Aaron Maguyon, Eric Olson, Ryan Patrick, Luke Radetic, Brandon Stanley and Kolby Vegara. Joe Coombs will the head coach for the East Division.
Maguyon, Patrick, Radetic, Stanley and Vegara will play for the East Division while Olson will play for the Selects White team.
Including his stats from Kenai River, Radetic is the Rebels leader scorer with forty-one points (22 goals and 19 assists). Maguyon is second on the team with thirty-eight points (17 goals and 21 assists) whereas Patrick is fourth on the team with points with twenty-eight (14 goals and 14 assists). Stanley has twenty points (10 goals and 10 assists), Vegara has sixteen points (4 goals and 12 assists) and Olson has eleven points (6 goals and 5 assists).
120 total players from the NAHL will be spread amongst six teams, who will play in two games each during the event. The event will feature teams that represent the four divisions in the NAHL: Central, East, Midwest and South, along with two NAHL Select teams (Red and White). Only those NAHL players without an NCAA commitment are eligible to participate in the 2018 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, with the exception of those who will be playing on the NAHL Selects team. Each of the teams will consist of a 20-man roster (12 forwards, 6 defensemen, 2 goaltenders). Each team will play two games at the event.
This will be the second straight year that Coombs will be the East Division’s head coach. He guided last year’s East Team to a 2 – 0 record.
