Dec 19, 2022

DANBURY, CT– In their final game of 2022, the Philadelphia Rebels (11-15-1-1, 24 pts) traveled to Danbury to pick up a 2-1 overtime win over the Hat Tricks (2-24-3-2, 9 pts). The Rebels have now won all five meetings with the Hat Tricks this season.

After one period, the game was tied at zero. The Rebels heavily outshot the Hat Tricks 13-5 and controlled play throughout the period. Philadelphia was unable to get on the board in the first while drawing four Hat Tricks penalties.

David Deputy broke through, giving the Rebels a 1-0 lead in the second period. Deputy took the puck from his own zone and ripped off a shot that beat Matt O’Donnell short-side. The goal was Deputy’s ninth of the year and Max Hamstad’s 12th assist of the year.

That was all for regulation as the game went into overtime tied at one.

In overtime, it was Greg Spitznagel scoring from a sharp angle to give Philadelphia the win heading into 2023.
