The North American Hockey League announced that Philadelphia Rebels defenseman Joe Stauber has been named the East Division Third Star of the Week following his standout performance against the Maryland Black Bears on Saturday.
Stauber delivered a memorable night offensively, recording a hat trick for Philadelphia in the Rebels’ matchup with Maryland. The defenseman scored all three of his goals during a strong stretch for the Rebels, helping Philadelphia briefly take the lead midway through the game.
Stauber first got the Rebels on the board late in the opening period, cutting into Maryland’s early advantage. He carried that momentum into the second period, scoring twice more to complete the hat trick and give Philadelphia a 3–2 lead. His three-goal performance marked one of the most impressive individual offensive efforts by a Rebels defenseman this season.

Through the performance, Stauber continued to make an impact on the Rebels’ defensive corps, showcasing his ability to contribute offensively while maintaining a strong presence on the back end.
The Rebels will look to get back in the win column as they prepare for their next matchup against the Elmira Aviators. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
