The Philadelphia Rebels are sad to announce that Matt Gaudreau has resigned from his position. He was the team’s assistant for the past two seasons.

After a stellar collegiate playing career at Boston College, Gaudreau spent parts of four seasons in the American Hockey and East Coast Hockey Leagues. He played a total of 21 AHL games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Stockton Heat. Most of his professional career was spent at the ECHL level where he totaled 35 goals and 100 points in 127 games played. In the 2019-20 season, Gaudreau recorded over a point per game with the Reading Royals (11G, 29A, 40P, 38 GP).

During the 2021-22 season, Gaudreau transitioned from playing to coaching, joining the staff for Hollydell Ice Arena’s Philadelphia Hockey Club.

“I would like to send my deepest gratitude and thanks to Matt” said Rebels Head Coach and General Manager Justin Hale. “He welcomed me to Hollydell and was a great resource to have on staff as a first time Head Coach. Matt truly cares about developing both the player and the person. He did a tremendous job being approachable to all of our guys and was able to establish great relationships with the entire group. I wish him nothing but success on this next step for him” concluded Hale.
