SEWELL, NJ – The Philadelphia Rebels have acquired defenseman Dominic Foglia from the Corpus Christi IceRays.
Foglia is playing in his second season in the North American Hockey League and has amassed 30 points in 72 games from the blue line.
“We’re excited to add a player of Dominic’s caliber to our group,” said head coach Justin Hale. “He has good size, junior experience, and is someone that has produced solid offensive numbers from the blue line this season.”
This season in Corpus Christi, Foglia was part of the leadership group as an alternate captain.
“Being a captain for Corpus, we also look forward to his added leadership in the locker room,” Hale said.
So far in 2022-23, Foglia has 10 points in 17 games played with three goals and seven assists. One of his tallies came on the power play and he has recorded assists in two of his last three games.
Foglia joins the Rebels blue line, becoming the third 2002 defenseman on the team (Dylan Blue and Jared Kaplowitz).
The defenseman is committed to play Division I hockey at Colgate University (ECAC). He is the third Rebels player to commit to a Division I program (Calvarino – Univ. of Vermont; Margarit – Army West Point).
Foglia moves back to his home state of New Jersey with the trade, with Hollydell Ice Arena just a few hours south of his hometown of Tinton Falls, NJ.
