Weekend preview: 11/18 – 11/19. Rebels travel to Attleboro for two games to begin eight game road swing

This weekend the Rebels travel to Attleboro, MA to play two games against the Northeast Generals. The first game will be held on Saturday, November 18 at 5:30pm and then on Sunday, November 19 at 3:30pm. These two games will be the beginning of an eight-game road trip for the Rebels.

The Rebels and Generals only have played once against each other this season. It was a 5 – 3 Rebels victory back on October 18 when the Generals entered the game in first place and the Rebels were undefeated. The Rebels scored four goals in the first ten minutes of the game and then held on for the victory.

Northeast Generals Overview
The Generals enter this weekend’s games with a 14 – 9 record with 28 points, which ties them with the Rebels for second place in the East Division and one point behind division leader Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. The Generals are 2 – 3 in their last five games, and they are coming off of a 4 – 1 home loss to the Knights back on November 5.

Northeast has three players who have 24 points respectively: Matthew Wiesner (11 goals and 13 assists), Colin Bilek (10 goals and 14 assists) and Mike Egan (10 goals and 14 assists). Wiesner also has scored the most goals on the team (11) and game winning goals (4). Ryan Rowland leads the team in penalty minutes with 46 while Louis Boudon has a team best +14.

The Generals have scored the most goals in the league so far with 83. However, they have given up 74 goals in twenty-three games (third most in the league). Northeast is eleventh in the league on the powerplay having converted on 20.7% of their chances while they are ranked thirteenth in the league on the penalty kill having prevented the opposition from scoring 77.5% of the time.

The goaltending tandem of David Fessenden and Marko Sturma have a combined 3.08 goals against and a .914 save percentage with two shutouts (one each).

The Rebels have a 14 – 3 record for 28 points coming into this weekend which ties them for second with the Generals, although they have six games in hand on them and three games on hand against division leading Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.The Rebels are 3 – 2 during their past five games, and they are coming off of a 2 – 1 home victory over the New Jersey Titans this past Wednesday.

Andrew Bellant’s twelve points (5 goals and 7 assists) leads the team. Diarmad DiMurro’s (3 goals and 8 assists) and Jensen Zerban’s (6 goals and 5 assists) each have eleven points respectively. Zerban and Auggie Moore each have scored six goals. Zerban also has three game winning goals. Bellant leads the team in penalty minutes with 46 while DiMurro has the best +/- with a +9.

The Rebels have scored 54 goals in seventeen games (seventh best in the league) while they have allowed only 30 (least amount in the league). The Rebels are second in the league on the power play have converted on 27.1% of the chances with the extra attacker while they are ranked sixth in the league on the penalty kill having prevented the opposition from scoring 86% of the time.

Goalies Ryan Keane and Eli Billing have a combined 1.73 goals against average and a .927 save percentage with one shutout (Keane).
