Getting Back on Track
The Rebels will look to get back to their winning ways this weekend with a home and home against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights. The Rebels have lost 4 out of their last 6 games and will have to find a way to achieve success this weekend to stay in the race for first place in the East. Last weekend the Rebels were swept in their weekend series with Johnstown, being outscored by a total of 12-5. The Knights currently sit at last place in the East, and the Rebels will surely do everything in their power to come out of this weekend with a sweep of their own.
Keeping Up with the Knights
Coming out of this weekend with 4 points will be no easy feat for the Rebels. Although the Knights hold last place in the East, that does not mean that they should be taken lightly. Last weekend the Knights played one game against the New Jersey Titans, who hold first place in the East, and they came out victorious. The Rebels will have to keep an eye on Knights forward Carson Knopp, who has been heating up. Knopp notched 2 goals this past weekend against the first place Titans and will be looking to put more in the back of the net this weekend.
Finding the Positives
Even though the Rebels did not have the outcome that they would have liked last weekend in Johnstown, that doesn’t mean that their weren’t positives that they can use to fuel them for their home and home this weekend. Chris Deprez had a 3-point weekend against the Tomahawks – with a goal and 2 assists, while Dean Balsamo added to his team-leading 19 points with an assist. The Rebels will be looking towards guys like Deprez to add to their secondary scoring this weekend if they want to come out with 4 points.
Eyes on the Prize
Currently, the Rebels sit 5 points back from the first place New Jersey Titans, with a game in hand. Last weekend may have been a minor setback, but expect the Rebels to come out flying this weekend and get back on track with their push for first place. This could be the biggest challenge that the Rebels have faced so far this season, and they will certainly be looking to take advantage of the last place Knights.
