Wilson, Varsa Lead Rebels Past Titans 2–0 to Snap Seven-Game Skid

MIDDLETOWN, N.J. — The Philadelphia Rebels snapped a seven-game losing streak with an impressive 2–0 victory over the New Jersey Titans on Saturday night at the Middletown Sports Complex. It marked one of the team’s most complete performances of the season, as they recorded their first shutout of the 2025 campaign.

After a tightly contested and scoreless opening 40 minutes, the Rebels came alive in the third period behind a standout effort from forward Cam Wilson. The Lindenwood commit scored both goals for Philadelphia, breaking the deadlock early in the third before sealing the win with an insurance marker late in the frame. The 2008-born forward now has four goals this campaign. Billy Sheridan, Abzal Alibek, and Mikey Conlon each collected assists in the victory.

Goaltender Ben Varsa was exceptional between the pipes, turning aside all 33 shots he faced to secure his first shutout of the season. Varsa remained calm under pressure, especially during the final minutes.

Special teams played a key role in the win. The Rebels went 1-for-3 on the power play, capitalizing when it mattered most, and held the Titans scoreless on their lone man advantage. Philadelphia’s discipline and defensive structure were on full display, limiting high-danger chances and keeping New Jersey off the scoreboard for the full 60 minutes.

With the victory, the Rebels improved to 6-10-0-1, while the Titans dropped to 7-3-1-2. The Rebels will look to carry their momentum as they hit the road next Friday to battle the Rochester Jr. Americans. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
